Ian was born in Leeds and spent his formative years in the Yorkshire Dales. Both his parents were painters and he was surrounded by paintings and materials. Ian studied painting full time in Norwich and has lived in East Anglia ever since relishing the views and vistas, the light and the immense skies. Ian was winner of the landscape prize at the Mall Galleries, London in 1988. This led to a long association with Conte and Canson and to writing for magazines, demonstrating at art societies, exhibitions and tutoring painting courses at home and in France, Italy and Spain . Ian has exhibited widely and also worked with other projects including writing two books for Harper Collins and made many other videos and DVD's. Some of you will also remember Ian as presenter of King and Country which aired fourty-six episodes on ITV Anglia.
